CCR Walks: "Terraemotus!!!" - Roman Earthquakes - October 15, 2016

NOTE: The date of this walk has been changed to Saturday rather than Sunday.

Earth-shaking gods and divine punishments have regularily made their presence felt in Rome's history and on its landscape. This walk from the Coliseum to the Field of Mars will look at Rome's geology, its building techniques, and the impact of earthquakes and tremors on the city's history in ancient and modern times, and the challenges facing its inhabitants and policy makers.

When: Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016
Time: 10 a.m. sharp departure, 9:30 for coffee beforehand.
Meeting point: Colosseo area; exact location to be provided to those registered for this walk.
Cost: €10 for members and €15 for non-members.
