Canadian Thanksgiving Lunch - October 13, 2013

Initially brought to Canada as a European-style harvest festival between the 17th and 18th centuries, the exact date of this celebration varied from one year to the next until the twentieth century, when the second Monday in October was eventually chosen as Thanksgiving Day in Canada.

We will be celebrating with a casual gathering at an old Roman inn on the Via Flaminia. They will be preparing roast turkey especially for the Canadian Club of Rome.

appetizers of bruschetta, assorted salami, mini beef meatballs and deep fried vegetables
homemade spinach and ricotta ravioli with fresh basil tomato sauce
main course of oven-roasted turkey
with stuffing, gravy and cranberry sauce
oven-roasted potatoes
salad
red and white house wine
water
pumpkin tarte with whipped cream
coffee
